Dennis Hastert acted exactly like Cardinal Law in Boston
Dennis Hastert acted exactly like Cardinal Law in Boston, when reports of abuses in the church surfaced.

When faced with the extremely serious problem of dealing with sexual predators among their ranks, both of them shuffled the victims around, made some location changes and made sure they kept everything under wraps. And the predators were left to do their evil deeds.

Instead of removing the predator ipso facto and letting the authorities take care of the problem, Hastert decided to hush the scandal, which in the end let the predators get away and attempt more abuses.

Seems like the GOP uses the same approach for many issues (Rumsfeld, Tenet, Abu Grahib, Guantanamo, Jeff Gannon, etc.)

2. let's hope the press doesn't toss this one
down the memory hole. This bastard needs to step down, and it won't happen if the mainstream press overlook his fat ass and concentrate solely on Foley.

14. Did they have the same Damage Control Coach?
There must be a training curriculum in hypocrisy for blind partisans - people for whom 'loyalty' is the highest (so-called) 'virtue.'

12. Yep. It's called "damage control" ... and took nearly a year.
It's one of the 'features' of blind partisanship.

18. very true. Even if Hastert does win in Nov. I think he won't be Speaker
in January--or even Minority Leader. His leadership days are over.
