2. Fineman: "Rs have formed a circular firing squad. Rs reduced to arguing
that the Ds are just as bad...they've lost the moral highground that they've established over 15 years."

Well, I question any high ground being reached by the Rs, but, still...

7. The moral high ground Reagan climbed when he exported
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 04:14 PM by sfexpat2000
torture and death squads all over Latin America? Or, when he turned the mentally ill into the streets? Or, when he decided that catsup would do as a vegetable in school lunches?

The moral high ground George the First reached when he bombed innocent civilians in Iraq? When he left the Shia to be slaughtered? That moral high ground?

Or, the moral high ground Junior gained when he let disaster tear the heart of two beloved American cities? Or, when he used his own 9/11 victims to justify more death, destruction and crony profits? That high ground?

The Republicans crawled into the sewer a long, long time ago. They haven't seen the moral high ground since that slimeball Joe McCarthy went on his little witch hunt.

4. Idiot Tweets: "these IMS blew your socks off."
Does he realize that that phrase was derived from the porno industry? In old porno films, the men
kept their socks on. If their sexual partner was really good, she supposedly "blew his socks off."

Ah, language!

5. Unfortunately in the wink-wink-nod-nod party, this won't mean anything
Too many of them know they are guilty of the same thing, to speak openly against it.

6. The hardcore 30% of rethug voters don't care if their rethug leaders....
rape, pillage or burn; they'll justify their leaders actions one way or the other or just plain ignore their actions all together.

11. Except that some of them are Buy-Bull voters, and for heaven's sakes,
you can't blow (pardon the pun) the morality thing. For those voters, who vote exclusively on the "well, at least queers can't get married" platform, this IS a big setback. Especially since some of them might otherwise be wavering or ready to leave the reservation because they are seriously concerned about Iraq. The morality stuff is what usually keeps this subset of voters securely in the corral. So it looks like we've got 'em coming and going. So to speak. Hey, whatever works...

My take on it:
