Is this the first time someone will be prosecuted under his own law? |
|
I can't think of any other time a congressman or senator was subject to prosecution under his/her own sponsored bill. The irony is so exquisite!

4. The fact that he tried to set up a rendezvous.... |
|
...is what makes him subject to the law.

7. He's not gay, he is a pedophile |
|
Pedophilia is about power, not sexual orientation.

9. True that this is about pedophilia, but I think that the general consensus |
|

is that he is also gay.

12. Not by me. I'd actually argue the opposite |
|
I think part of the sexual appeal for Foley, much like for pedophile priests, is that by abusing thier position of power and molesting children of the same sex, they are committing as many taboos as possible.
As in,
"Its wrong to solicit children for sex, its wrong to sexually abuse anyone, and its wrong to be gay (in Republican land)"
Those three wrongs act as barriers that the abuser's position of power and authority helps them cross, which probably makes it all the more sexually arousing to them...

The turn around in power positions will be abrupt, to say the least.

10. Life seems to have vexed the fellow |
|
Some people can't handle power, when they get it, they need to rape something innocent, and in doing so, somehow redeem themselves in the blood of their kill. What is it that this craven man wanted from a young child, was it innocence, having a future?
Republicanism has come to this pathologically, and its no accident.

but Arianna's husband lost a Senate race of this kind of thing. He had authored exactly one law during his tenure in the US House. That law banned the transport of illegal aliens across state lines. Turns out they had a nanny who was an illegal alien. He wound up losing to Feinstein.
