Negron Replaces Foley
snip -

Negron was picked this afternoon to replace Mark Foley as the Republican candidate for Congressional District 16, which includes parts of Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties.

Foley’s name will remain on the ballot — some absentee ballots in the district have already been mailed — but any votes he receives will count for Negron. Foley, a congressman for 12 years in the District, abruptly resigned Friday when ABC News reported he had been trading sexually explicit instant messages with teenage boys.

1. Some Friendly Advice to the GOP
Don't let Sen. George Allen pronounce Rep. Joe Negron's name in public. Just don't take the chance.

3. Foley's name remaining on the ballot cannot be a good thing for pubs.
I would think many will now go out of their way to vote against him. The Dem should benefit from some of those "against" votes.
