Thoughts on Mark Foley

WHICH BRINGS US BACK TO MARK FOLEY. It is inconceivable that Foley was sending NC-17 rated Instant-Messages to 16 year-old boys and didn’t realize how improper and damaging his actions were. One can only wonder why, if Foley couldn’t control these appetites, he still chose to live a life in the public eye.


The only possible answer is that he could control these appetites, but something in him told him that he didn’t have to. You can imagine the thought process. He was a United States Congressman. His district made a quiet peace with his sexual orientation when he briefly ran for Senator a couple of years ago. Another gay congressman, Gerry Studds, had an affair with a 17 year old male page and after that became public, Studds’ Massachusetts district still returned him to office.

the only thing I can find is that a page came forward ten years after the fact and Studs came out publicly because of it and then won re-election. This is a counter thrown out by the right and especially free republic and I heard that Hannity is running with this. What are the facts?
