I first heard about it on Bartcop years ago. Here's an archived link from Democrats.com

http://archive.democrats.com/display.cfm?id=159

Larry Flynt brought this up live on CNN back in 2000, I believe, and CNN scrubbed or "shrubbed" the transcript.

edit: for typo

11. Jim Bath the same James R. Bath that Bush
skipped flight training with? re: the link above. Jim Bath threatened the witness according to this account. I'm not believing it, but the Jim Bath connection sparked my interest a bit.

14. It seems so.
It's too bad that Moore didn't mention this unsurprising connection when he briefly explored the Bath connection in F911.

I just spotted this one. 2 posters claim Robin was born in '47, and thus not jailbait, but that her husband (an FBI employee) and she have a Corpus Christi vacation house worth 1/2 a mil.

The original link was dead, but the cached one worked. Take it with a grain of salt, since the posters provided no documentation.

The MSM should have explored the story further in '00 and '04, but of course, didn't. I remember Scotty mentioning something about unsubstantiated abortion rumors at a press conference some time back. It might have been in the context of Flynt's '04 book on Bush-boy or it might have been mentioned during the draft records cover-up. I could have swore Helen Thomas was on the verge of asking Scotty about this and/or the cocaine-related P.U.L.L. Project allegation, but Scotty skated and dodged his way out of it as usual.

Flynt's been right on the money numerous times, i.e., Livingston, Barr, Burton, Hyde, Gingrich, etc.

30. As I understood it,...
The transcript and subsequent planned interviews were scrubbed at Flynt's request. The woman in question had personally asked him to not make the matter public and he chose to respect her wishes. However, by the time he'd received her request, he'd already taped the CNN interview you've mentioned. It did air (without mentioning names), but was later edited in order to comply with the woman's desire to not become a public figure over something that had happened almost 30 years before... (I'd read speculation that she'd never told any of her family about the experience and that she didn't want ghosts of her past haunting her. Understandable...)

I was a little disappointed by Bush's hypocrisy not being exposed, but there were indeed two people involved in the matter. And if the woman wasn't willing to go public with her story, it would be wrong to "out" her just for the sake of gaining political points over *...

32. Yep
There was a woman who he dated before Laura and he got her pregnant. Poppy Bush got her an abortion in Texas when it was illegal (she was an African-American girl). She started talking in 2002 after Bush "won" and she was found dead in her home. :( Apparently she didn't want the abortion but they made her.

26. That is true--although
It certainly is in bad taste.
Abortion is a legal procedure, although it is one that many women do have grief over and some have pain.
I just think celebrating and ridiculing what might have been a painful personal choice for the woman (and knowing the Bush cabal she didn't have a choice in the matter) isn't something we should do.
As liberals we celebrate choice. Making jokes about that choice seems to send a mixed message. Not only that, you are acknowledging the fundie position that it was a child that was aborted, not just tissue.

31. Who said it was a joke?
I think it's a good question. How old would the child be? No joke, no mocking or ridiculing the would be mother, just a plain question that the Bush Family would rather not be raised.

23. Wow - that brings up memories
About 20 years ago a buddy of mine in a southern state (20 years ago - not 34 - my buddy wasn't W) needed $300 in cash in a hurry. It was for "that". He needed cash so there would be no way it could ever be traced back to him or her.

Handn't thought about that in a long time.
