We need to get in power first. It's obvious that the majorty of people think it's A-OK to torture "THEM" Arabs. That's the response I get from Republicans and even many moderate Democrats. How do you fight against that???

How to fight this ignorance? It is hard because fear and advertising work. People are ruled by their emotions rather than their intellect, even intellectuals often. Foley's sexual predation and the coverup will help get these guys out of power, but what I meant is that we still have the problems that they have caused (like being able to arrest any of us anywhere anytime and hold us for however long they want without charging us, and do whatever torture the Fuhrer/dictator says is ok and will never be held liable for)

So, how to fight against people saying torture is ok? Many many people call this the "torture bill" and have little idea about the other stuff I wrote above in paranthesis. Tell them. In the mean time, shove republican values in people's faces, talk about it to everyone.

And, it is not obvious to me that the majority of people think torture is ok, just the vocal ones and the ones in power.

ask them how they feel about torturing people before they're proven guilty. Because that's what the really big problem is- we're not talking about convicted terrorists, we're talking about ACCUSED terrorists.
