Let the MSM cover Foley all they want |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 06:25 PM by Ignacio Upton
While Mark Foley's scandal, in terms of GOP corruption, is pretty low on the totem pole (Jack Abramoff and MZM are much higher) considering the fact that the MSM just loves sex scandals and senstionalist stories, we might as well tag along and allow for this to remain in the news cycle for as long as possible. Every day that the MSM uses covering Mark Foley is a day that they can't use to shill for the GOP at the last minute to help them win.

4. Hastert's resignation in October |
|
will assure a Speaker Pelosi. Unlike 1998 where the Republicans LOST seats during their Monicagate witchhunt, we'll gain seats if this stays in the news, because it shows a sex scandal an coverup among CONGRESSIONAL REPUBLICANS.

5. It's a little ironic that we criticise the MSM for this kind of stuff... |
|
Rape stories concerning blond white girls that hang around too long and bury stories like wire-tapping and Iraq...that pisses folks off.
I resent the media spending too much time on what I view as insignificant stuff, even when there's death involved. When it's only one death or a few deaths it pales in comparison to Sudan or Iraq.
Yet here I am...happy to see this story beat to death for as long as it will be beat to death.
Am I a hypocrite?

But at the same time, the GOP being brought down for this will be like Capone going to jail for tax evasion.

6. If this is the repuke scandal that sticks, I'll take it. |
|
I've had my hopes dashed so many times - Abramoff, Kenny Boy, Gannon, Duke Cunningham - so many promising stories that went nowhere. The repukes are long, long overdue for a big, sordid messy scandal that leads to multiple resignations and criminal investigations. Couldn't have come at a better time.
