This is not about Democrat or Republican. This is about abuse of power. |
|
There are predators which happen to call themselves both.
As we know, there are Democrats who vote for torture, the Patriot Act, and Warrantless wiretapping and another enormous check of all of our taxpayer money to go to the shiny weapons, pretty tanks and cool spy Drones to kill and terrorize the innocent people of Iraq and Iran.
Don't fool yourself in believing that Dems will save the day. It makes you vulnerable when you believe ANYONE will save the day.
Its going to take all Americans to better participate. PERIOD.
Don't fool yourself that the Democrats will all of a sudden change and vote the way you want when and if they take the House and/or Senate.
In truth, we have to clean house of both sides of the aisle.
In addition, we have to begin running for office and participate more actively as Americans, not Democrats or Republican.
That is where Americans are left like sheep to the slaughter by the banks, etc. and others who hold so much power, often over those in office. Some will but some are wolves in sheeps clothing as well.

6. I think power corrupts... |
|
The Dems have less of this shit because they distribute power, they don't embrace a philosophy of rulership by the "elite", therefore they stay less corrupted. But I'm sure there is a Dem somewhere who has done something like this.

Democrats can be corrupted by power, too. But I have never seen them do bad things at the level of todays' Republicans. And they better not ever try it.

4. We need to do our part, in the Dems and for the Dems. |
|
It stays clean when we stay active and give our money, time, and outrage in the right places. It stays strong when we have willingness to compromise to get our guys in. It really takes both, and courage!

is and has become through our own lack of oversight and their gradual draining of our power as citizens - and how they are stealing the state's money and power and that's not right.
Perhaps with Foleygate and so many other "gates" we might see the cancer that has killed any legitimate governship in Washington.
The power needs to belong to us and come back to us. It will take "us" to do it.

Democrats....And to be honest, the world be a better place if conservatives do the same with the republicans. We also need to support policy, right or left, that empowers the individual with liberties, and limits the power of the state. (note that I do not subscribe to the legal view that corporations are individuals)

"Abuse of power" is inherently a Fascist, er, Republican problem. Note I did NOT say "exclusively." But they ARE the party that believes power exists to serve those who have it. Democrats certainly succumb to the temptation to siphon off a squirt or two of Power for their own personal purposes when they can get away with it. But there is not a philosophical rationalization built in to Democrats, in general, that tells them they have an in-born presumption of privilege.

14. Perhaps the problem with Dems is not testosterone, but lack thereof. |
|
Absolutely that the Republicans are more predatorial/bullying by nature.
However, the 'abused wife' syndrome (Democrat) is just as damaging to the whole of the 'dysfunctional family'.
I think you and I are much more on the same page than not.
I think the dance that is played by these two so-called teams, is essentially a divisive factor that divides Americans and leaves us fractured which actually keeps the powers that be in the position of holding the strings.

10. It's Not Partisan With Me |

These guys are such obvious crooks that I would even take moderate Republicans over them. I think that if Mc Cain had been President instead, he would have handled everything a lot better. So it goes beyond political allegiances in my case. At this point, just about *anyone* would be an improvement over the sorry bunch that lead our country these days.
