Religious Leaders Call for Repentance, Resignations in Foley Scandal
Email from FaithfulDemocrats.com...

We at FaithfulDemocrats.com have organized a group of prominent clergy and academic Christian leaders in sending a no-holds-barred letter to House Speaker Dennis Hastert. The letter calls for the repentance and resignation of all House members who knew about Mr. Foley's sexual misdeeds against children and failed to stop them. It offers a little moral clarity in a time when Republicans seem to prefer obfuscation and misdirection on the issue.

We're still working on changing the format of these emails so we can link directly to articles (money and time, money and time...) but in the meantime, you can copy and paste the following link into your browser to see this one:

http://faithfuldemocrats.com/content/view/314/40/

There's a nice little CC list that includes James Dobson, Tony Perkins, Jerry Falwell, and other religious right leaders who have been silent during this episode -- though one strongly suspects they wouldn't be so quiet if Democratic leaders were the ones covering up for a sex offender.

Please check it out!

Blessings,

1. Excellent response
Moral clarity is what's needed. Forwarding to my friends of faith.

2. Yep, that's moral clarity.
There's no excuse for covering it up, given the power relationship between the two and Foley's position. Stepping down is the only right thing.
