The Path to 9/11 broke the Gentleman's agreement and unleashed a dam
To me, the 9/11 Commission was a collection of folks who agreed in a bi-partisan manner not to be too hard on each other and ask too many probing questions. It was political theater. Give the public it's 1/4 pound of flesh and then move on. But then, someone broke the rules when they put their revisionist movie piece of crap on the air. The gloves are coming off now.

The Clinton interview and the Woodward book are starting to blow the true lid off 9/11. The Condi episode has further solidified the sham of the Commission. Cofer Black said it as plainly as it can be said -"There were things the 9/11 Commission DID NOT WANT to know".

Time to re-convene with a REAL commission that asks actual questions. We are just starting to find out what they knew and when they knew it and what they did and did not do.

2. There's a fellow named Jerome Hauer
who was Rudy Giuliani's 1st Director of the Office of Emergency Management which was located in WTC7. He is also the same person who created John O'Neill's job has head of security at the WTC. Both had dinner together on 9/10 and supposedly Hauer found and identified O'Neill's body in the WTC rubble. Hauer was also the same person who warned the WH to start taking Cipro on 9-11.

Yet when Haurer testified before the 9-11 Commission, not a single one asked him what he was actually doing on 9-11. That's just the way the Commission did things it seems. It was all a sham.

3. I'm anxious to hear what Kristen Breitweiser and other
family members have to say about this cover-up. We've all been duped. That report was just a band-aid over a weeping wound that will never heal until the actual truth, however ugly, comes out.

19. The 9/11 Widows gave the Commission 300 questions.
70% of them were never even addressed, let alone answered.
Only 27 of the 300 were adequately answered.

4. You are correct, Phoebe Loosinhouse!
Perhaps we can have a real commission after the November elections. I want the chimp and his gang of thugs put under oath.

5. the moment the 9/11 commission openly admitted they were witholding
their findings until after the electiom, was proof they were a political boondogle and not an investigative body.

6. They Were Warned & They Had Their Chance - So Now They Must Pay
and pay dearly for that threat-to-national-security-bullshit movie. You are indeed right, they unleashed a helluva dam. As it says in the Book Of Amos, "Let justice roll like a river."

8. It seems
that the 9/11 Commission may have a few things in common with the Warren Commission, namely, a desire to hide the full picture.

9. Well, no.
Woodward didn't start writing his book as soon as the news came out about Path to 9/11.

Woodward and his publishers targeted the book to come out just before the election.

The Path to 9/11 fanatics used the tragedy to, hopefully, influence the coming election.

There may well have been an agreement to be nice to each other on the committee, but we know that evidence was restricted from the getgo so an incomplete, slanted report is hardly a surprise.

The Republicans figured they could keep a lid on the official story with a Warren-like commission. The Warren Report is riddled with errors and lies, but nobody has really been able to budge it. It remains the official story of the Kennedy Assassination. But that was another era and the Republicans haven't kept up.

We have many more venues for information than we did in 1963.

The gloves are off because the election is genuinely up for grabs.

10. A Commission headed by Lee Hamilton didn't dig deeply enough?
Edited on Tue Oct-03-06 06:48 AM by JHB
Why, I'm shocked! SHOCKED!

It's just so inconceivable!

Lee "I surrender and here's my virgin daughters for your enjoyment" Hamilton has always been the very soul of dilligence against Republicans!

:sarcasm:

11. They need to reconvene while the people are still alive. They need to at
least try to make the reports as complete as possible. There will alway be conspiracy theories no matte what they do, but they should put as many to rest as they can.

Learn from the JFK experience - do whatever they possibly can while people are alive and their memories are still good.

13. The other Commissioners need to vote Tom Kean OFF, NOW.
It would be better for them to disband than to keep going with someone who destroyed the credibility of all that work by serving as Executive Producer of "Path to 9-11".

under penalty of perjury and threat of torture and without Fifth Amendment crapola since the Constitution has been torn asunder to the likes and whims of one man.

20. I think the Path to 9/11 was the tipping point.
Some here slam Clinton for "waiting" to explode in its wake but, as the OP points out, it was the gun that went off at the starting gate. Now it remains to be seen if will become a trend. The Democrats need to speak out, loud and often.

21. I don't see any way they can stop a new investigation now.
This was the highest levels of the inner circle finally exposing, at the very least willful ommision of facts that would have shown incompetence or deliberate cover up.

It is out of the bag now. There will be relentless pressure that will be the equivalent of a 9.0 earthquake. It will come from everywhere.
