Ed Schultz calls for filibuster! Caller after caller in favor. Dems |
|
on show, Leahy, Derbin, say filibuster on the table, say it's Harry Reid's call!
Folks, I think there is going to be a filibuster.

Not to mention the 99 other reasons...

3. Yes, Ed has changed his tune since |
|
the beginning of the show today.
He started out by playing Lindsay Graham's threat during the committee vote (We'll clean your clock), saying did we really want to run the risk.
But, with caller after caller weighing in on the side of filibuster, he's backtracking. SG

8. LOL! Yeah, he's got a thing goin' on |
|
with Joey. That's one of the things that bothers me about his "liberal" credentials. He speaks to the heartland, but...he grates on me a lot. SG

6. Naw, he never said he was against it, he just asked his |
|
listeners if they were for it, given there might be a political price to pay.
Ed does this occasionally, plays devil's advocate to make for better talk radio.
It's his style.
Drives some people crazy, but I think he's pretty on board with the important issues.
People always want other people to agree with them 100% on all things.
I remember when Reid said about Harriet Miers the day after she was nominated that "She's a nice lady," and it drove a number of Duer's totally crazy.
Me, I didn't bat an eye because saying that and saying you intend to vote for her are very different things.

14. Yes, he does play devil's advocate, but... |
|
sometimes his true colors aren't flying very high up there on the mast. See post N°8. SG

17. animal rights activists probably hate the guy |
|
plenty of those around here I'm sure. :eyes:
I'll give the guy credit for being the first progressive talk show host, even if he is really more middle of the road. What bothers me is other hosts who bash him for his success when the market was there for *anyone* to make the attempt. He went for it and succeeded. *You* should have done the same...

13. I doubt Reid will allow the filibuster: |
|
In fact I would expect him to do everything in his power to obstruct a filibuster, just as -- last week -- he was already undermining Alito's Democratic opponents: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=2377688Note too that Reid -- and 17 other alleged "Democrats" -- showed their true loyalties by voting not only for the re-imposition of indentured servitude aka "bankruptcy reform" but also, via the same legislation, voting to allow the banks to force us into default by doubling our credit card payments: http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=109&session=1&vote=00044
