7. I think it's safe to say that the threat came from a Republican
It's probably the higher ups, but it easily could be all these Repug idiots that are calling in to CSPAN. My jaw is on the floor listening to their excuses.

22. I fear Alexandeer's former page may become another Frank Wills,
the night watchman who belw the whistle on the Watergate burglars. He never again held a job even as good as night watchman, because of the chain of events his alert actions set in motion.

Just think of the TRILLIONS of dollars corporations and wealthy Republicans are counting on a Republican-controlled Congress to send their way, in looted FICA revenues and in looking the other way from corporate greed. The Louisiana kid may turn out to be a real party-pooper.

6. Obviously the kids will be the losers.
Men 50 years old deserve what punishment they receive for leading these "children" in a perverted direction. And all this happens on Capitol Hill?

Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

9. Typical Con Action
Isn't it typical that when someone says something about a republican the horde descends on them. They send letters, they threaten, they rant and rave.

In California, a man sent a letter to bush and cheney which was of a threatening nature. In a couple of days they had found the guy and the investigation started. Tha Quick.

Now, in the case of the antrax letters with the threats that had killed people six years almost ago, nothing has been found. Oh did I mention all the letters were sent to dems/libs. And nothing has been done about the letter sent from California to Keith Olberman with fake anthrax. The FBI has no 'LEADS'....damn I guess you have to be a republican to get justice.

12. Some are saying the age of consent is 16
age of consent depends on state law - however, there's a question whether federal laws on solicititation of minors via internet may apply. Good question - we'll see.

26. Glad to know it's 18 for his acts. He's in trouble,
and deservedly so. Not only is the age difference important, the abuse of power and position is also disgusting.

15. Page appointments are a matter of public record
Anyone who wished to could examine the Congressional Record or the Congressional Bulletin and find out whom Rep. Alexander has appointed as a page over the past few years. I haven't, because I figure the kid deserves some privacy, but one could do it if one were so inclined.

19. IMO Alexander (R-LA-05) needs to RESIGN immediately, rather than
try to shield his political career by further exploiting the whistleblower Page. Sure, Alexander warned that boy's parents about Foley. But what about the parents of the other 71 teens a year that go through the House Page program? He did NOTHING for them. This brings to mind the Parable of the Shepherd in the Bible.

who doesn't toe the party line.
Think Keith Olbermann--last week.
Threats are their standard operating practice.
Which, no doubt, is how they keep the votes the need to pass their unlawful legislation.

24. Alexander had *two* former pages hit on by Foley? Or is this more
conflating of pages/incidents? The 2005 emails weren't sexually explicit and the kid ended contact after Foley asked for a pic. Was one of the recipients of the explict IM's indeed also a former Alexander page?

I recall someone here saying that in other places on the net the 2005 page's identity, info were being posted by posters who blamed him for Foley's fall. But he didn't receive the IM's. And it appears that he wasn't the one sending the "over friendly" (creepy) emails to the media for the last 11 months.
