PA shooter had KY Jelly with him (among the items with him)
Edited on Tue Oct-03-06 11:20 AM by Solly Mack
Why did that man have KY Jelly?

On the news just now. News Conference. CNN

His suicide note said he was afraid of molesting again

OH...guess that answers that.

Is anyone else watching this?

2. Great, so if he just shoots all the little girls in the world
he won't be tempted to hurt them?

Sick.

5. Very sick.....
I'm surprised at how candid the police are 24 hours after the incident. I would think they would take more time to release such detail.....

29. well, there likely won't be much criticism about
Edited on Tue Oct-03-06 12:17 PM by gkhouston
"why didn't the police keep those girls from being killed?" if people start thinking about what might have happened to them if the shooting hadn't begun straightaway.

on edit: and if someone local is trying to make the perpetrator look not so bad, this degree of candor will make that impossible.

13. Why didn't he just kill himself?
None of this makes any sense. This guy had to be totally insane, yet no one could detect it. I wonder if there is more to the story that we will never know. Was he perhaps still molesting?

28. That's exactly the rationale of those fundamentalists,
especially Muslim fundamentalists, who demand that women keep themselves entirely covered so that the men may not be tempted. We find different degrees of it in most cultures still - women shouldn't wear sexy outfits because that makes them more liable to become rape victim - women should cover their hair so that men won't sin in their thoughts - and so on and so on.

I feel sorry for the girls that were killed and their families - may God hold them in His hand; I feel sorry for the killer's family, who probably didn't have any hint at what he was planning to do - may they get the help they need and not end up shunned by their own community; and I feel sorry for his previous victims - may they have gotten the help and now lead full and rich lives despite this pos' crimes against them.

10. Reports are that the Amish have already forgiven him.
The Amish are incredible. I don't know how they can find forgiveness in their hearts for such a heinous deed, even if I understand that is their belief, to forgive all transgressions.

These were little girls, shot execution style after being tied up. The killer should have his remains buried in a cesspool, but even that would be too good for him.

26. I watched the Amish parents with the boys that were allowed to leave
They were NEVER left alone, whomever was watching and with them at all times (4-5 people constantly) would crouch down so they were eye level with those children at all times.

The body language of all the Amish while the helicopter was above for hours said a lot. Most times, all the elders and fathers, when they wanted to talk to one another, would crouch down among each other. There was total calm among them all.

Be careful on the roads out there everyone in the tri-state area...these funerals will bring Amish from far and wide...family in Ohio and Indiana and other surrounding states will travel back to PA, and there may not be enough drivers, so many may go by wagon and buggy. Slow and careful everyone....I expect a ton of road traffic in the next week or two. The entire Amish family will descend to comfort each other.

15. this was NOT terrorism
It was mass murder. It makes no more sense to call it terrorism than to call it genocide. Terrorism has a specific definition (as do all words), and this event does not apply.

Calling any act of violent death terrorism just dilutes the meaning of the word thereby weakening it. Before 911 and Bush's constant "terra terra terra" nobody would have called this terrorism and rightly so. Stop doing the GOP's work for them.

I know I responded to it just after the news came out that the shooter had molested relatives earlier in his life but I can't find that post any more. Given the implications of the thread, it was probably wise to delete it.

Seems very straight forward... The shooter is pretty creepy looking...that should have been red flags alone for his wife...of course I'm not blaming his wife at all, this guy was just sick...

Hate that the reporters 1st question was about sexual abuse...

22. When they started to read off a list of all the tools and EQ he had w/ him
I thought...damn, he was planning on spending some time in there torturing and mutilating those children.

I have been near speechless since this happened...because any words I have for it are small and puny compared to what a tragedy this is.
