To the GOP Leadership: You've failed to protect children (rant)
To the GOP Leadership,

In 2005, your Speaker of the House of Representatives, your Majority Leader and your head of the House Page Board covered up the fact that one of your own is sending inappropriate emails to a minor. In addition, you let him chair the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children, after knowing what he did. To a normal person, anyone sending such emails would be reprimanded and dismissed, but no you couldn't behave like normal people, you had to try and protect yourselves from a scandal. But as you can see, trying to cover it up just turned it into a bigger scandal.

Your protection of Foley could have enabled him to go further than just emails and instant messages, what if he actually went on to harm a child? What if he had harmed one in the past? No, you never thought about that, all you thought about was your own selfish need to hold on to the power that you have abused. You preach about values and morals, but what decent person would allow such things go unchecked? The initial emails might not have been explicit, but they were still grounds for concern and should have resulted him being removed from the Missing and Exploited Children caucus. The situation I've described, is the reason I now believe that the country and possibly the world is better off without people like you holding any position of authority at any level.

1. The power-obsessed have higher priorities than integrity.
Unless it serves the ends of power, nothing else counts. This is symptomatic of partisanship that places 'winning' above values and principles ... the ol' "end justifies the means" where the means become the end.

Power for power's sake. Torture for torture's sake. Wealth for wealth's sake.

It's about appetites, not nutrition.

2. I would like to know where all these so called Christians are? I haven't
seen them storming the WH and calling for a very big investigation and bi-partisan one...are they still trying to figure this out...is there someplace in the Bible that it is all right to have sex with children..
