Bad Taste, Or Bad Luck, For Fox Re-Airing Osama Episode Of Family Guy?
Life imitates art? Click here for the whole article.

The Family Guy episode features Osama laughing while making a video. It re-aired just hours after a video surfaced showing two 9/11 hijackers laughing while making a video.

Coincidence? Bad taste?

1. If it aired "just hours after" the video, it is coincidence. NT

4. IT'S A RERUN
It doesn't take any time to pick one episode over another.

6. If you have to get the listings to all the tv guides, etc., these things
are planned for months.

3. u think?
It doesn't take long to re-air one re-run over another. And why air this episode, which first aired a year ago, when there are other more recent episodes?

It's a little odd, doncha think?

5. If it was done on purpose, what was the goal?
Just curious.

7. Bad luck
No different than the day that Steve Irwin died and a Simpson's episode aired with a Steve Irwin-like character that got eaten by crocodiles.

but of course, that's also Fox, so is it possible that the same person made both decisions? to air or not to air?

11. Actually...
It was the WB or whatever the new name is now (I can't think of it). It was a rebroadcast. Here in NOLA there are two showings of The Simpson's in the afternoon.

16. oh
well, same problem. someone sees that a rerun that might be considered bad taste is about to air, and runs it anyway?

10. maybe both, but I didn't find it in bad taste
or at least not in any worse taste than the rest of the cartoon, which is kind of their schtick.

I laughed.

12. Complaining about bad taste on Family Guy
is kind of pointless. The show revels in it.

Ever see the pez dispenser joke? 40 years later it still was in poor taste.

Anyway, I can tell you for a fact that episode was planned to air at least a week before it aired.

13. at least TWO weeks....
I had set the Tivo to record that particular episode "PTV" because of the big F-U to the FCC it has.
