either him or his parents must have sent these email to at least 3 major media outlets. Each one followed up but could not get the family to go on record. So why did they bother to try to get this story out in the first place, only to back off later? Second, since this story was passed to so many places, it seems inevitable that this boys ID would be revealed.

I think they need to come forward at this point and go public. They're going to get threats either way.
