Was Foley outed by the internet police?

Just cruising around Freeperville when I found this post.


Last I heard, all internet traffic goes through either Ft. Huachuca or Fort Meade. All it would take is one person there that might have been an enemy of Foley.

somebody got the page to seduce Foley and record their IMs because otherwise how would these IMs survive? They wouldn't.

4. actually if a young person is being harrassed in IM/chat rooms

the thing for them to do is either log what is being said (like this) and alert chatroom mods or in the case of IM to take the logs to parents/teachers/adults who will then report the offending communications to police.

But of course kids above 7 or 8 don't like to divulge any of their communications to adults/parents, even communications that they don't want and/or shouldn't be subjected to.
This is a problem...

But then again there is still something that they can do which is very effective that is prior to anything "official" like informing adults and police--and any kid 16 years old like a Congressional page knows how to do this. BLOCK the offending IM screenname, and in the first place don't talk to the bastard. If he insists on talking dirty to you, reply that you're recording the conversation because he's using words you don't understand and you "will have to ask Mommy what he means."

He will shut right the fuck up, guaranteed.

So the kid(s) did exactly the right thing in recording these messages, and we know that in at least one case they went to the adults supervising them, the nation's lawmakers. Unfortunately the adults have let them down by doing nothing about Mark Foley for years and trying to hush it up. If Rush Limbaugh and partisan terrorists of his ilk had their way, Mark Foley would still be freely abusing his position as a Representative vis-a-vis the House pages and engaging in sexual harrassment.

5. Dunno about the NSA but I wouldn't be surprised if some factions of CIA...

are involved in some what's happening lately. Of course, we'll never know if they are. But it's generally not a good idea to piss off the CIA.
