1. You have to read the Repukian version: |
|
1. We admitted we needed more and more power - that we wanted to rule like kings. 2. We came to believe that our power could restore sanity to the subjects in our land. 3. We made a decision to turn the will of others by using God to scam and swindle them. 4. We made a searching and fearless inventory of the private communications of the subjects of our land. 5. We admitted to God, to ourselves and to everyone else the exact nature our subjects failings. 6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all the defective and illegal subjects from our land. 7. Humbly asked God to remove our political opponents and those who disagree with us. 8. Made a list of all political opponents and peoples of other faiths and be willing to torture them into confessing. 9. Made direct deposits to the accounts of our rich and wealthy corporate sponsors and political allies. 10. Continue to blame our subjects for all our failings and weaknesses - particularly our lurid sexual fetishes and perversions. 11. We seek, through coded language, outright lies, and play acted religiosity to improve our moral standing amongst the subjects who have real faith (and money). 12. Having had a political awakening as the result of these steps, we smear our opponents and develop a vast network of think tanks and operatives to carry our rule far and wide.

Just for the record:
1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol — that our lives had become unmanageable. 2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. 3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. 4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. 5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. 6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. 7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings. 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. 10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. 11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
