Florida election laws- are you kidding me?
So Foley has to remain on the ballot but votes under his name will go to his replacement? I just can't believe thats true! How the hell could that ever be legal? Only in Florida I guess...

1. That's interesting, oh well, works out for us.
I heard something briefly about that on the radio yesterday when I was channel surfing. Now I understand what they were talking about. The guy talking said they they would lose the seat because of this.

2. but remember this..any repub would have to cast the vote for a pedophile!
its like voting for the wizard of oz...only oz is behind the curtain of a criminal who has committed crimes against children..too many grandma's and grandpa's in fla will not do that!!
and too many floridians will not play that charade

they will not be fooled by the gop bullshit and games..not over child abuse!

3. The problem is the ballots have already been printed
and some of the absentee ballots have already been mailed out.

Once they started mailing ballots it's too late to make any changes.

4. It is a good thing in a few ways. It stops bait-and-switch
after primaries, for one. It also saves taxpayers a huge reprinting cost, and saves confusion for absentee voters.

There is no downside for Dems on this one, that I can see, for the obvious reason that anyone wanting to vote repug has a blatant, in-their-face reminder of just what they're voting for.

6. Yeah I guess

5. actually, this situation came up in the recent past and florida chose
to handle this scenario in this manner. i believe at that timem that it was a dem that profitted. i will see if i can find the election where this has happened before.

7. CNN kept saying over and over again the Repubs had to educate the
voters that they were not voting for Foley..and then they reapeated it over and over again..Free advertising for the Repukes.
