KarmaBanque is at the centre of a new activist movement which combines the civil disobedience of Gandhi with the financial savvy of George Soros to help change the economic and political landscape of the world!

“What goes around comes around” is the strapline of KarmaBanque , the site that channels consumer outrage to hit unethical companies where it really hurts. Rather like a stock exchange, the site provides a rating of the best brands to boycott – based both on their vulnerability (how much the company’s stock price depends on its sales), and the strength of site users’ collective ‘ill will’ towards them." -- Green Futures

What do you think?

1. I like the idea, but there's a problem.
If you checked the list, you better plan on growing your own food, and drinking water.

P&G, Kraft, Coke, Pepsi, are all on the list.

Some on the list, like Ford, don't seem to need any help. They're tanking their stock price quite well all on their own.

3. Will have zero effect. You need to understand how the market works.

Let's say that for political reason company F is on the list for liberals not to own.

However, if F is also a profitable company, the stock will be going up, and your sale will simply provide available stocks to someone who wants some of the profit. All that happens is that you lose money and help make a Freeper happy.

If the company is losing money, then the stock is going down on it's own and you need to get rid of it anyway.

If you are talking about a boycott, very few people bother with it so the effect is too small to notice.
