KBR awarded $385M Homeland Security contract for U.S. detention centers
Edited on Tue Jan-24-06 06:56 PM by Lori Price CLG
News Updates from Citizens for Legitimate Government

KBR awarded $385M Homeland Security contract for U.S. detention centers 24 Jan 2006 KBR, the engineering and construction subsidiary of Halliburton Co., said Tuesday it has been awarded a contingency contract from the Department of Homeland Security to support its Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities in the event of an emergency. The maximum total value of the contract is $385 million and consists of a 1-year base period with four 1-year options. The contract, which is effective immediately, provides for establishing temporary detention and processing capabilities, to expand existing ICE Detention and Removal Operations Program facilities... The contract may also provide migrant detention support to other government organizations in the event of an immigration emergency (?!?), as well as the development of a plan to react to a (Bush-created) national emergency, the company said.

New US Army code hints executions at Guantanamo 25 Jan 2006 Convicted detainees in "war on (of) terror" could be executed at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo, Cuba, according to a new code adopted by the U.S. Army, the U.S. military suggested Tuesday. The new rules authorize the army to set the location for executions "imposed by military courts-martial or military tribunals and authorized by the president of the United States," according to Sheldon Smith, a U.S. Army spokesman. "Enemy combatants could be affected by this regulation," he said.

5. Well, the bird flu pandemic that the Bush regime has been working...
for and praying for should fill Halliburton's concentration camps to the brim.

With Nazi Alito's confirmation, the implementation of a full-blown police state is at hand.

BTW, in order to justify the contract and have it renewed, Cheney Halliburton will need to fill those camps up pretty quickly.

Auschwitz showing German's use of landscaping & neatness.

? I am for killing any al Qaeda bastard we get who has left his homeland so as to train
to get ready to kill Americans but that still doesn't justify the need for these camps.
This is truly frightening ....... Because according to the NY Times not one person has
been caught and or arrested because of the NSA wiretaps.

18. Chimp brother Marvin also profiteering from Homeland Security
Edited on Tue Jan-24-06 08:24 PM by happydreams
http://www.counterpunch.org/burns1205.html

The full effects of the 2001 so-called "USA Patriot Act" have not yet been felt, fortunately. But one of its first effects has been to benefit the president's brother, Marvin.

Marvin P. Bush, one of George W. Bush's three younger brothers, is co-founder and partner in Winston Partners, a private investment firm in Alexandria, Va. Winston Partners in turn is part of a larger venture capital entity called the Chatterjee Group, headed by venture capitalist Purnendu Chatterjee. (Venture capital firms provide money to start-up businesses and other companies, usually in return for equity and some managerial say in the company.)

Through this and other business relationships, this Bush sibling is positioned to do very well in high-tech activities as a result of provisions of the Patriot Act.

Securities and Exchange Commission filings show that the Chatterjee Group consists of Winston Partners, L.P.; and a half-dozen other entities with addresses in the Cayman Islands, the Netherlands Antilles, the Isle of Man and Delaware.

Bush's partner is Scott Andrews, with whom he went to school. Winston Partners has two branches, hedge funds and private equity funds, engaged in a variety of investments, including global "outsourcing" and offshore information technology.

H.R. 3162, called "The Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act" (or USA Patriot), was designed to prevent money laundering and requires banks to "know their customers."

19. Yes, then there's this: '9/11 Security Courtesy of Marvin Bush'
Edited on Tue Jan-24-06 08:33 PM by Lori Price CLG
Marvin P. Bush, the president’s younger brother, was a principal in a company called Securacom that provided security for the World Trade Center, United Airlines, and Dulles International Airport. The company, Burns noted, was backed by KuwAm, a Kuwaiti-American investment firm on whose board Marvin Burns also served. (Utne)

According to its present CEO, Barry McDaniel, the company had an ongoing contract to handle security at the World Trade Center "up to the day the buildings fell down."

26. Uncle Bucky Bush is profiteering off of Iraq War.
Edited on Tue Jan-24-06 08:59 PM by happydreams
http://thinkprogress.org/?tag=Contract%20Corruption

Paying Uncle Bucky
For certain members of the Bush family the war in Iraq has been very profitable. Just ask William H.T. Bush, or, as President George W. Bush calls him, Uncle Bucky. Bucky Bush just made a cool $450,000 in war profits from Iraq through the St. Louis-based defense contractor Engineered Support Systems Inc. Bucky, who sits on the company’s board, cashed out a half-million of the company’s stock options last month.

ESSI’s stock prices skyrocketed “to record heights” with Uncle Bucky’s nephew’s decision to invade Iraq. ESSI raked in millions with contracts to refit military vehicles with extra armor, build $19-million worth of its protective shelters for chemical and biological weapons (despite the fact that no biological or chemical weapons have been found in Iraq), and provide communications support services to the Coalition Provisional Authority. Of course, the company hasn’t been without its share of trouble, even with a family member in the White House: some of ESSI’s no-bid contracts (with a value of $158 million) are now under investigation by the Pentagon.

He also was profiteering with brother Jeb on some Homeland Security stuff, but I'll have to dig that up
