...is behind a lot of the recent revelations that are now surfacing? Afterall, I wouldn't put it past the little, vindictive fuck to take down as many of his "buddies" as he possibly could for not coming to his defense.

And a lobbyist is only as valuable as his connections. If they clean house, he won't know anyone and it will be more difficult to deliver for his clients, so his fee goes down.
He would want Foley to stay. As a former leader and dirty tricks champion, he undoubtedly knew about Foley and he would undoubtedly use it to secure a vote. Foley in the House is a sure vote in his pocket.

The crimes are just too minor. Bad for a Congressman, but I just dont see it. He will get time served, adjudicated, suspended sentance, whatever, but he won't get three squares and a bunk.
