Foley brings the conversation down to the lowest common denominator

For all those American voters who think that the evening news is too hard and aren't sure what the bill of rights is, all this talk of illicit sex and politics is spot on. We're back at the level of Bill and Monica. And although that level really isn't as important as the other things that are happening to this country, its something they can understand.

The Republicans and only the Republicans can insulate us from terror and keep us moral... at least that's what they've been telling us the past few years. The former is just too confusing, but the latter, at least when it comes to sex, is a lot clearer. A Republican who made protecting children his cornerstone issue was instead soliciting sex with them. This is bad. This might mean Republicans can't keep us moral.

This are so many better reasons for the House and Senate to be handed back over to the Democrats than this one. But as skater Scott Hamilton always said, "a win is a win". Its a win even if the other skaters got sick and had to withdraw after the unfair judging put them in the lead.

I want the House and Senate back. The moral failings of the Republican party and the Bush administration are so monstrous without a sex scandal, its hard to believe that there is anyone left who can't see it. But maybe this will appeal to that moronic 30-40% who approve Bush no matter how much he lies. I've come to believe that there are a lot of incredibly stupid people in this country who vote for extremely superficial reasons.

I want the House and Senate back. If its because of a phone/internet sex scandal that went on for years and was covered up, so be it.
