I've heard so much about how the repukes have so much more money than dems. Has it been said that the money they're getting out of K-street is being funneled to keep these assholes in power? I admit to not following the Abramoff stuff as I should have.
This is incredible stuff!

I'm in the same boat as you... |
|
I didn't closely follow the Abramoff scandal. It's hard to follow the details of every corrupt operation these thugs run, isn't it?
I watched most of the Moyers show. I was so appalled. I found myself wondering how this could even happen in America. Is this really how our political system works?
DeLay should be tried for treason.
And Ralph Reed...I didn't understand how deep his involvement was. I was blown away. How can the Fundies not see that they have been used--for their money and their votes? These thugs don't really care about abortion and gay marriage--as much as they care about killing Iraqis and engaging in corruption that benefits them monetarily.
I was astounded that Ralph Reed still ran for office after he did these things! Thank God he lost the primary. I was also taken aback by how evil and smug these bastards are. They think they're at the top of their game--destroying America as they strut around DC acting like those Fascist frat boys from Animal House.
The show was an eye opener. We Tivo'd it. Some day, when I can brace myself--to watch the corruption and evil again--I'll watch it.

12. I love how Moyers interviewed Fundies Reed played for suckers-- |
|
organizing pastors--or claiming to have organized 50 pastors with a congregation of 40,000--against gambling in Texas. But Reed did not tell them he was getting paid by Abramoff and Scanlon to stop gambling in Texas for the benefit of gambling competitors in Louisiana!
I also like the EXCELLENT choice of Norm Ornstein for "balance" wtih discussant Thomas Frank the last 20 minutes. Ornstein may be the least partisan Republican at AEI. I browsed his new book, "The Broken Branch", and was AMAZED how thoroughly it goes after Republicans for their "vertically integrated" corruption of Congress.

13. This was an amazing piece. DC is rotten to the core with these |
|
weasals, and they were all playing each other, with the American people holding the bag. Foley is just the push the whole stinking mess needs to slide into the abyss.

16. This should be required viewing for all Americans -it's amazing!! |
|
Did anyone catch the discussion afterward??
When Moyers introduced Norm Ornstein from the American Enterprise Institute
I thought uh-oh, here we go, he's going to defend the Republicans,
but I was quite surprised to see his disgust with the current crop
of GOP leaders. He made some excellent points.
