Hastert No-Shows Major Interview
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/10/04/hastert-interview/

House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL) was scheduled to be interviewed tonight by Chicago radio host John Williams. His previous radio appearances had been exclusively with conservative sympathizers like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Williams is a moderate who planned to ask tough questions.

But Hastert never showed.

A top source in the speaker’s office tells me: “We never booked WGN. Am not aware of a call.”

But according to the show’s producer Matt Bubala, who spoke to ThinkProgress tonight, the interview was very much scheduled, and Hastert staffers apparently were not telling the truth about why Hastert bailed on the show.

is running isn't important to him. I hope Lesch can win!

BTW John Williams is on the biggest and most popular talk radio station in the city of Chicago am720 WGN. The station with the strongest signal in the midwest. Their politics tend to be moderate repub, not total wingnut. But, then they have Cathy and Judy's show which is 2 women in their 60s who are liberal dems they have a large listenership and many gay listeners who they are proud to have.

5. Sounds like Williams was going to make Hastert sweat
And I'm guessing that Mr. Hastert isn't really anxious to do any additional sweating right now. So it's only the safe venues like Rush and Sean for the Speaker of the House. Like any other two-bit hack with his tit caught in a wringer.

6. I agree with Denny
How can he face the press when they're waiting to carve up his fat lying ass? Denny can run but he cannot hide. The good news is they're all running from campaigning now. This is too good. I'm loving it. Squirm Denny, squirm
