All this talk about martial law and cancelled election leaves me pondering

If that was their intention, wouldn't they have done it in late 01 or in 02, immediately after 9/11, when they could get away with just about anything? Why wait until late 06 when everyone knows what frauds and crooks they are?
I don't deny that Cheney and Rumsfeld probably salivate over the prospect, but I'm guessing the ones who haven't lost touch with reality in Shrubco realize their relations with the military right now are frayed at best, an order to enforce martial law would probably send them over the edge

6. they didn't NEED to declare martial law then--the sheeples and

all the people in shock handed them whatever they wanted, so it still LOOKED like america. they would probably do it now because the sheeples are actually, some few of them at least, starting to wake up, and the more who wake up, the harder it will be to control them. ergo, martial law, after some terrible incident.

I don't put ANYTHING past this bunch of power-mad thugs.
