18. Am I supposed to vote "yes" or "no"? |
|
If he stays, we pick up at least 35 seats.
If he goes, I think we'll only get 20.
I'll wait on your advise.

23. How you vote in this poll isn't going to make a bit of difference |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 08:23 AM by TorchTheWitch
This poll isn't going to make one shred of difference whether or not he stays or goes, so that political point is completely worthless here... it's not like the GOP is going to even glance at this poll.
But what it MAY do is impress on people on the fence who see the results that more or most people think he should go to think so as well... people generally feel more comfortable being mainstream in their thinking ("Damn, all these people think he should resign - they must know something I don't, so I'll vote that he needs to resign, too").
If you think he should get the ax, vote that way.

the longer he looks like he is just clinging to power, and irresponsibly so the worse it is for the GOP voters ethical stomaching of the scandal.
Everyday more and more bad is coming out, and he is still refusing to leave, eventually he will name other names to protect himself, and that is a great thing for dems.

10. I am unsure how to vote. Having him in there makes for great |
|
issue-bending MSM impact. The longer he stays, the more people start looking at him without rose colored spectaculars. And face it, his fuck ups on Foleygate is truly spectacular.

Besides, these network polls are for the network to help them decide how to report on a story. If they see that most people want Hastert gone, they MAY tend to report that way.

35. Hastert's presence is causing the GOP problems;why should I want him gone? |
|
Let them self-destruct.
I'm hoping the religious right is finally recognizing that the Republican party has been using them all along. They thought Washington DC was Sodom and Gomorrah when Clinton was in office, and along about now they ought to be fed to the teeth with what the Repubs have been doing.
The "base" will never vote Democrat; but maybe they can find something else to do on election day.
Stay the course, Denny.
