Fox News in a bind on Foley (D-FL) snafu
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 09:39 AM by Caution
Liberal bloggers are insinuating this was done purposefully by Fox. Normally Fox would respond by saying "this is ridiculous conspiracy theory" but since their own party is now claiming a conspiracy by the Democrats to out Foley's behavior at the most opportune time they can't risk addressing the Foley D-FL thing without undermining their own current strategy.

It's fun to see them left pretty much speechless.

2. IT WAS DONE ON PURPOSE
There are no journalists working at faux "news." They are merely a propoganda machine for the republican party. They are scum, no integrity, no moral compass, nothing positive provided to our country.

4. Of course it was done on purpose
Check out this thread: They are implying that the Dems hold back the emails because they wanted to protect Foley's fucking seat!

12. I know it was done on purpose...
i just figured they would later do a retraction, perhaps very quickly in the crawl, as a CYA.

The damage would be done, but Fox could say, "look, we did a retraction."

5. You know for their dumb followers
the worst part of this is not perpetuating their misinformation re Dems since that is par for their course. Fox's assumption that its supporters are so dumb that they would not know that this is a Repuke scandal should really upset the morans but I guess they don't care as long as Repukes maintain power.

I hope the Dems sue the pants off of them.

13. This kind of crap plays to the sheeple. My next door neighbor,
a huge Faux Snooze fan, card carrying member of the Christian Taliban and overall clueless chap swears that Foley is a Dem. He saw it on the news and that is good enough for him.

When I showed him the various news reports on the internet over the outrage that Faux put up the wrong information and now has not corrected their mistake meant nothing to him. Did not convince him any different. Foley is a Dem, Faux said so and the "internets" are lying to protect the Dems from this scandal. This guy is an educated man, retired vet who has travel extensively and is no fool. Well, maybe he is a fool since he watches Faux. He and his wife just say if it is on the internet than it is nothing but lies.

Faux knew exactly what they were doing. First they claim the misnomer of "Fair and Balanced," have only repugs on the air spreading propaganda and then deliberately put up nonsense knowing their viewers will not know the difference.

16. I hear you

And all that you just said has been corraborated by polling of FauxNews viewers. They are clearly either A) Stupid, B) Lazy, C) Unwilling to seek truth ...or a combination of the three.

In the end, we must trust that FauxNews will do nothing to take Dems to their side. FauxNews is much like Limbaugh in that they play to their base. FauxNews is catoring to the right and the right likes the buffet line setup.

However, anyone not right or anyone interesting in actual news and not relentless right-wing propaganda will either ignore the drivel that is FauxNews, be turned off by it, or watch and just laugh at the amazingly absurd stupidity that permeates that shitfest station.

I have DirectTV and FauxNews is actually blocked, much like some block pronography.

22. Would he not even believe a sample ballot from Florida?
I'd get one sent to his house on official Florida letterhead.

I cannot believe someone would believe a gazillion reports that he's a Republican over one stupid Faux News tag line. Unbelievable!

15. it really takes a special kind of person
It really takes a special kind of person to come up with this strategy. "Let's just say Foley's a Dem. Enough people will believe it."

How cynical, and how confident in your ability to deceive, do you have to be to invent such a strategy?
