Now they're saying Bill Clinton knew about Foley
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 11:03 AM by cynatnite
Hastert asserted that any Republicans urging his ouster are playing into the hands of Democrats and blamed his problems on the media and Democratic operatives, even suggesting former President Clinton might somehow be involved.

"All I know is what I hear and what I see," he said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune on the eve of the ethics meeting. "I saw Bill Clinton's adviser, Richard Morris, was saying these guys knew about this all along, If somebody had this info, when they had it, we could have dealt with it then."

Hastert said "people funded by George Soros," a liberal billionaire who has plowed millions into this and other election campaigns, want to see the scandal blow up. And he warned that when the GOP "base finds out who's feeding this monster, they're not going to be happy."

The Clinton War Room is all geared up and ready to smash Conservatives - so good conservatives should politely look the other way whenever a revelation comes out about one of their guys.

20. WTF is the Clinton War Room?
Does he mean all those assholes that used to work for Clinton that appear on TV saying how much they love Joementum and that Dems should agree with repubs all the time to show they aren't pussies? Is he talking about Lanny Davis? Carville? Begala? Hah - these twits would probably say how partisan it would be to attack the pubs over Foley.

on Joe).

But yeah that's exactly who he means.

They had a graphic of it at his website yesterday.

Then they came for the Evangelicals...
and said they were helping the Democrats by criticizing the Republicans.

23. The word "Clinton" was the first d@mn thing out of their
mouths exactly 3 seconds after the story broke. VERY predictable and thankfully, in this instance, completely useless. They covered for a pedophile for political reasons. Plain and simple. What Bill Clinton knew or did not know does NOTHING to assuage that startling fact.

21. they want, so badly, to pin this on the democrats!!
it was the result of a republican congressman and the republican leadership covered it up!!

ABC has also said their source was NOT a democrat!!

And even if this has been going since Clinton, that doesn't improve things for republicans. I mean if this has been going on for almost 7 yrs and no one has done anything about it......it still makes them look bad!!

Yesterday, the talking point was that "everyone" knew that Foley was gay and that the pages
had been "warned" about him.

Wouldn't "everyone" include Clinton?

24. The all Powerful Clinton! Can you imagine if Clinton and Rove got
together?!?! Can you imagine the conspiracy theories that would result?!

The left thinks Rove is all-powerful, omnipotent and behind every single political thing that happens in the US and the right thinks the same of Clinton. It's laughable.

30. If Clinton knew, Bush knew...
You think that the Beltway rumor mills and undercover dirt gathering operations which allegedly brought this information before Clinton suddenly stopped working for Bush, only for this particular juicy bit of gossip? I don't think so.

If true, that would add yet another impeachable offense to the ones Bush already chalked up...

34. I don't know why Hastert did not blame it on Woodrow Wilson?
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 12:06 PM by Uncle Joe
If Wilson had just been able to get that damn Treaty of Versailles ratified by the Senate possibly avoiding World War 2, the current Republican Congressional Leadership would not have been so depressed as to allow a Republican Congressman pedophile from preying on a 16 year old boy.

They could also blame Jimmy Carter, he once said he had lust in his heart, this might give the republicans some cover.

There once was a standing joke on the old Rowan & Martin Laugh In Show, that went "The Devil made me do it", too bad that one has already been taken.
