How far are Republicans willing to take their "Divide & Conquer"

strategy here in America. Are they willing to create an actual Civil War here? If Bush* were to launch a nuclear strike on Iran and make actual war on them would that be enough to pit one American against another? I know for myself I would despise any person that backed such an operation and would be afraid if they were bold enough to do that they would be bold enough to declare Liberals as "Enemy Combatants" because I am sure we would be very outspoken against it. Are we only weeks away from a decision so repulsive that America could be torn apart?

"They" need stability in the U.S. because without that they are destroyed. Liberals are the ones busting their asses for them, doing all their work so they can enjoy life. The last thing they want is a disturbance to the status quo.

I am convinced that it is exactly the opposite. The Republicans thrive on discord and chaos. The need people to be confused in order to exploit the chaos. 911 is the perfect example of what can get done with some fear and confusion (patriot act, tax cuts, dubai port deals...)They will create fear and discord to profit from a war among us just as much as they and their shareholders in the military industrial complex profit from all wars.

I could see a scenario where they would keep the workers who are willing to work for slave wages, and those who are willing to support the war, and detain everyone else. They might justify themselves sort of like they justify imprisoning people now for illegal drug crimes. They might say we are mentally deranged and therefore dangerous to society. Actually with the constant rise in the prison population Americans already are being detained like this gradually enough that most people do not care to notice it.

As far as a massive strike against the population, it's more difficult to imagine. Maybe they will turn on us one day and say 'enough is enough, screw these liberal bastards.' I just think that it would be (or is) more insidious than that. As long as we continue to be the sheep that we are I don't think they have a reason to get that upset, but if that did happen I think they would fail.
