Not enough enemies
For the paranoid (R-USA), there can never be too many. Convinced that without a massive military, they'd attack, kill and rape and track dirt across the kitchen floor. Who are they? Doesn't matter. Mostly people with more melanin. And the Chinese. Chinese people are poised to strike as soon as they sense that they have superiority. Oh, and Venezuela. Hugo is preparing an assault. Iran, North Korea, what's left of Iraq, Afghanistan, all Moslim countries, and everyone else.

So how do you build a human to fear everything, especially others? Here's my design proposal.

- Give them a war god. One that smites and spites. All others are non-humans are worthy of nothing, except possibly slavery.
- Feed distrust and greed through the airwaves. Must reach all virgin ears simutaneously.
- Racism and homophobia are a must. Training hate at home for the big battle to come from abroad.
- Make the rich, richer. The poor must become poorer for this to work.
- Put government into the hands of corporations. The heartlessness of big business creates a dog-eat-dog landscape.

Oh, wait, someone beat me to it. Damn.

1. Humans are fearful by nature.
Your list is the icing on the cake. Peace, Kim

2. Monday I posted an idea about fear and 911
It dropped like a rock but I still feel like the concept is an important one. The fear that you speak of must be calmed in order for our country to be salvaged. I truly believe that until we give the fearful something tangible to hold on to they will willfully let this democracy dissolve. Below is the opening paragraph of that thread. You may find it interesting. The remainder is in my journal, October,2 titled How do we rebuild This America? Peace, Kim

In the days following 911 the leaders of the United States enlisted in an all-encompassing Fear Campaign. Americans were made to feel small and frightened. Who knew when the next attack would come? The message from the top was ‘Be Afraid’. As an American citizen I was appalled at the message. We were Americans, strong and brave. We should pull together, be vigilant, and help our neighbors if times got tough. But no, we did not hear anything about being strong. This orchestrated Fear Campaign has left many Americans in a frightened stupor. Those of us left standing, those who still have strength to put America back together, must supply the ‘fearful’ with the security that they need to survive. We need to give the people the tools to help themselves be strong

3. Thanks Kim,
Maybe fear is addictive. I've said more than once that some people would fight to the death to retain their fears.
