Is somebody going to ask why this seems like a circus charade of an investigation with nobody actually DOING any investigating like would be done with an ordinary citizen, but instead all kinds of fake committees are being organized and fake fbi investigations being "started".

Will some brave reporter call them out on this??

1. There might be jurisdiction questions
I don't know that there are - but they might have limits on how much they can investigate due to the seperation of powers.

2. Because there is a special police force assigned to Congress
It's a jurisdictional issue. Don't worry, unless he literally destroys the hard drive the information will be retrievable.

6. Will someone ask why it took so long to do the obvious?
Somebody needs to call them on this fako pretend investigation effort.

14. See #13
Looks like things have been going on that we don't know about. The focus is still what did Hastert know and when did he know it. It isn't time to make accusations that can't be backed up.

4. Well, Foley was still using it.
He had some last minute e-mails to get out, I'm told.

15. If he's running Windows, he'll be updating for the rest of his life
Can you imagine having a phone so insecure that you have to constantly update the software? Yet we live with computers like that.

7. I think is was grabbed by Hastert's Capital Police.
Probably taken to a secure location because of all the classified information on it.

10. hastert is above the law.
Under the Constitution, members of both houses enjoy the privilege of being free from arrest in all cases, except for treason, felony, and breach of the peace.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Congress

Hastert and his buddies can bugger all the kids they want, as there is no prosecutor except . . "hastert".

12. Uh, I think you forgot one little bit.
This immunity applies to members "during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same."

And he told them to wait until all the smut was erased? Just a guess.
