I hope Hastert DOESN'T resign!

Good news for the Dems if Hastert decides to dig in his heels
and disgracefully remain in Congress.

It's a fact that Hastert KNEW about Foley, and allowed a known
pedophile to continue as House chair to the Center For Missing
and Exploited Children. It doesn't get much more repugnant and
perverse than that--but Hastert believes he deserves to keep his
job.

Furthermore, Hastert further endangered teenage pages--who were
away from their homes and parents--by keeping Foley's pedophile
behavior under wraps for political gain.

All of this, combined with Hastert's sense of entitlement--will
cultivate a second wave of outrage. Hastert's actions will only
underscore the notion that keeping his power is tantamount to
doing the right thing.

This story is at a level 9 now. After Hastert refuses to step
down--it will be augmented to a 10+ and the story will have
an extended shelf life now, as a more potent round of outrage,
disgust and disbelief sweeps over this nation.

Maybe Hastert won't resign--as sort of a trial balloon.

If the fallout and outrage is too great--he'll do it on Friday.

He won't be the Speaker in a week. I'd bet on it.

I'm glad he's acting like an amoral cretin. This gives
a scathing scandal more life and a few more days front
and center in the media.

Man, these clowns are completely off the deep end--but their
thuggery is our gain, I guess.
