The "great" economy will hit the skids if the Democrats win...
That is the message of the last few days. And they are absolutely right. Why will it hit the skids? Because the Democrats will not lie about the number of jobs created. They will not lie about the real unemployment rate. They will not lie about the true inflation rate. At least, not to the extent of this bunch in the White House. :)

Go to the grocery store and tell me the inflation rate is 2%. Look at the people that are not counted on the unemployment rolls and tell me the unemployment rate is less than 5%. Look at the number of unemployed that receive unemployment benefits in each state. Are we to assume that everyone of those people get a new job immediately when they are turned down for unemployment insurance?

The economy is not "great" at the moment. The same economy will be reported by the Republicans as awful as soon as the Democrats take charge. But, if we look at the history of labor and wages for the last 50 years, we will find that Democrats are consistently better on economic issues than are Republicans.

4. Except the ones in jail, like Bernie Ebbers and Dennis Kozlowski
It's such a damn shame that Kenny Boy didn't get to spend a few years cooling his heels in the clink.

7. This *is* economic progress- to Republicans.
Edited on Thu Oct-05-06 03:41 PM by Marr
They *want* to destroy the middle class in order to reestablish what they consider to be the proper social order; a sort of neo-feudalism with a tiny number of "enlightened" people at the top, supported by a vast sea of powerless, poverty-stricken serfs.

To them, that is a noble goal- so a Republican loss here could in fact mean an end to their great economic progress.
