DU, DU, DU ...let's
not get so involve and distracted from the real issues. Bush and the entire republican party have been completely proven to be corrupt. No over sight of Bush, no laws to enable citizens, no accomplishments or resolve of any hearings and no efforts to arrive of a plan to get our children out of this fake war of greed and DEATH. Foley is a distraction for the ignorant repugs and those that can't think of anything without the guide lines of this corporate media.

1. NO, NO, NO, but thanks.
If Foley is the hook to get Mr. and Mrs. America to recognize how disgraceful the Republican party is, so be it.

10. I don't decline the attention
that it is given, I'm only saying that it is taking away from Bush getting away with more crimes than a PEDOPHILE. We can do both to rid this country of these bastards.

16. But what if the Foley coverup scandal is the vehicle we use to:
A) Neuter Bush by gaining control of Congress
B) Position ourselves for a victory in 2008

Wouldn't that be OK? Listen, Bushco has been guilty of the most heinous of crimes, but the vast majority of Americans just don't understand them. They don't know habeus corpus from a hole in the ground. But a SEX SCANDAL and COVERUP, now you're speaking their language.

4. Baloney. It would be wrong to ignore it,
just like it would be wrong to ignore any of the other Republican crimes and scandals.

5. Wrong wrong wrong...Foley is the key
Use Foley to open the door to all the evils you posted in the OP. Don't make the mistake of ignoring the scandal. Fan the flames.

got traction. That's all i meant.

13. Oh
problem is that Arar himself isn't going anywhere and I believe he is going to sue so we could some day get an actual ruling on it.

19. I hope like hell he does sue them. What happened to him is despicable.
Sadly, i don't believe for a second that it was an isolated incident, nor do i believe it was a "mistake".

I hope he tears these scum apart.

21. Exactly
I can not tell you the number of conversations I have had in the past few days that started with Foley and led to MANY MANY other topics including habeas corpus, torture, 10 trillion debt, no WMD on and on and on - the Foley thing is something that EVERYONE understands and is in my eyes a GIFT FROM GOD....use it to tell your friends, neighbors and family what criminals these people really are and tell them all to get their sorry butts out to vote

11. GOP internal Poll says it will cost them many more seats...
which makes it a VERY important thing. One house, subpoena power in the hands of Democratic committee chairs....that means a restoration of oversight and accountability, and a halt to the nation's slide into totalitarianism.

We'll naturally settle down as things go forward but for now the excitement is real.

15. It is a distraction, but not the one they wanted
"Betray your Comrades" comes right out of their NAZI play book, too.
I suspect every byte of information I don't personally extract by stealth from their unwilling computers is planted.
That having been said, this event lacks the polished professionalism of the entertainments Bushco has provided in the past. It is desperate and uncoordinated.
I think that just maybe an old perv got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

22. Foley is a symptom, not a distraction. People who call Repuke scandals
'distractions' can't see the bigger picture or they can't multitask worth a dam, IMO.

And, this close to the election, I don't CARE if Mr. and Mrs/ Average are clueless about things -- I want Congress back, and then things can get rolling. Right now, nothing else matters but winning some oversight back.
