1. Response to question 1:
I could understand Republicans attempting to defend Speaker Hastert, but I don't think many Americans think the party of family values should be attempting to mitigate a sexual predator. All of these right-wing talk shows, blogs, and leaders are so out of touch with reality I don't think many normal everyday Americans really listen to them anymore.

Saddam had WMD.
There is no insurgency in Iraq, it's going swimmingly.
We do not torture.

Things that have been shown to be obviously false, and everyone of these people attempting to blame Democrats for this scandal said them. These people ought to be ashamed of themselves because of their collective conduct the past 12 years since the Republicans began their march into power with the '94 election.

Hopefully the American people will grow a spine and stand up to the fear mongering of the Republicans, who by the way are using the same fear that the terrorists are trying to exploit.

There is nothing wrong with America that can't be fixed by what is right with America: hope. We can't be hopeful when we live in fear.
