A perfect example of straight priviledge

Even if Mark Foley had gone after female pages instead of male ones, no one would be saying we can't have heterosexuals around girls. No one would say that the reason he was allowed to stay on was that we were afraid we would be accused of straight bashing. Mark Foley would be Mark Foley and that would be it. But he went after male pages and that makes all the difference. We have heard that gays are obscessed with sex (Wyrick of Free Congress), incapable of being in office without sexually abusing subordinates (Bruce of Fox News), in a cabal to sink the GOP (half the GOP), and a symptom of our moral decay (Perkins of the FRC).

Foley deserves to rot in Hell. His protectors who took his hush money deserve to rot in Hell. If he had gay protectors, and he might well have, they should rot in Hell right with him. But the rest of gay America shouldn't have to explain that we aren't him. Just like any other group of people, the vast majority of gay men wish to have sex with other willing gay men. Not children, not straight men, not unwilling men but willing adults. Somehow we always forget that when some evil rat decides to behave like Foley did.

It really is a priviledge of the majority that you are never judged by what some member of your group does. When it comes to race, I have that priviledge. When it comes to orientation, you do.

thanks to the fine educational job the GLBT people have been doing on this board.

After all, most pedos are heterosexual married men and most of them are hiding behind the cross or the flag or both.
