Each time when repubs took over the House and then the Senate we lost tons of senior Dems who didn't want to wait around till the Dems were in power again. Same thing will happen again if it looks like it will take more than an election cycle or two to regain power.

8. Baloney. The older guys might just bail. They aren't there for the

jailbait (at least I'm supposing they aren't), they're there for the money and perks. If there's no expectation of that, what else do they have to hang around for? Besides, their pockets are already lined. No reason to go down with a sinking ship.
