Foley flap has Republicans waiting for other shoe to drop

Although he says he has no intention of resigning as Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert is doing all he can to save himself but just might fail, says Helen Thomas in her weekly podcast.

There's more to come in the Foley scandal, she believes, saying the total story hasn't been told, that it has legs and there's nothing Republicans in Congress can do to stop it. Thomas also believes more pages will come forward with similar stories of misconduct on the part of elected officials.

And with Election Day just five weeks away, Thomas says the Republicans are in "deep trouble" and she predicts that the Democrats stand a "good chance" to win a majority in the House.
