I just found out that my nephew is going back to Iraq
The first time he was there, he was in a relatively safe part of the country. This time, he's going to Baghdad. He will either be on convoy escort duty or guarding some Abu Ghraib type prison. Needless to say, my sister and I are very worried.

1. I'm sorry
It must be hard to worry so much for so long.

4. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sister. My own
nephew got back last, has only 2 more years before he retires, and we're all just sitting on pins and needles hoping they don't send him back. He too was in a safe place the first time. It's a good thing I'm not in the service; I'd be in the brig right now. Peace.

5. May he be safe. We'll be hearing about this more and more
as these clueless leaders embroil us even further into somewhere we shouldn't be.
I now have a few stakes in this fight, young men in the service who are still stateside.

6. Hubby's nephew will be leaving for third tour soon...
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 09:43 PM by cynatnite
We don't know where he's going and we knew very little of what he did while there. The last tour he did spend time guarding a prison. He wasn't allowed to tell much.

He's been back less than a year. We're more worried this time around since it's more dangerous.

 I feel for you and your family. You and your nephew will be in my thoughts.

7. I'll be praying for you...give him lots of love when he comes home
my son did three tours over there. He landed there today as a contractor. These soldiers need lots of love, acceptance and help when they come back-to help them fit in to "normal" society.it wasn't there for my kid.May it be there for your nephew.

10. Try to stay strong
You and your sister will be in my thoughts and prayers, Poiuyt. Just remember, most American soldiers do return home safe and sound.

Peace
