1. I do, I do!!!!!!!!!
I think they care about wringing every ounce of mission out of them, until they are killed, wounded, or broken beyond repair.

I think they care about paying them as little as possible (disgraceful cost of living raise this year, the worst in 12 years...and they weren't being blown up regularly back then) so they can toss more dough to their Halliburton cronies....

I think they care about stiffing them on medical care both via TRICARE and the VA....

OPERATION SMART

Sergeant Major of the Army Recruiting Team (SMART) Program

As an integral team effort in helping meet the Army's recruiting mission, the Sergeant Major of the Army organized Operation Sergeant Major of the Army Recruiting Team (SMART). This program encourages Soldiers to provide referrals interested in the Army and Army Reserve.

The United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) developed this referral system for all Soldiers (Regular Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard) and civilians on all Army installations and in all Reserve units to have the ability to provide referrals interested in the opportunities of the Army and Army Reserve. Referring Soldiers or civilians must either submit their referral(s) via this site or through the USAREC 1-800 line (1-800-223-3735 extension 6-0473) dedicated to this program.

Making Referrals

This program provides a certificate and coin from the Sergeant Major of the Army for any referral of a potential applicant, which then results in an enlistment in the Regular Army or the Army Reserve. At the end of each fiscal year, the individual with the best record of referrals and resulting enlistments will be invited, along with their unit support officers to the Annual Chief of Staff of the Army, Recruiter of Excellence Award Ceremony in Washington, DC. They will be personally recognized for their achievement.

I for one do not plan on recruiting for this illegal war! Even though I could sure use a $1,000.00 I will not send them anymore cannon fodder as that is all they are to the Bush Family

16.  Yes, it is a shocking article.....
This guy who wrote it is supposed to be writing a whole book on the topic. This article was published over two years ago, and I've been waiting to see the book since then. All these "Support the Troops" people with their yellow ribbons need to know what really happens to the soldiers we send off to the wars we use to make ourselves feel good with patriotism.

11. What was that Rumsfool statement about the troops and
equipment when a soldier asked about armor?

They don't care anymore about the troops than they do the American Middle Class, Working Poor and the Poor. They care about power and money, period.

not the Army you want," Rumsfeld said.

IMO, the most despicable statement this sorry excuse for a human has ever said.

He added, "You can have all the armor in the world on a tank, and it can be blown up."

Have I mentioned how much I hate these people?

12. Their concern for the troops is nothing but yellow ribbons and
empty slogans. When it comes to actually caring for the troops--providing the tools they need to protect themselves in battle, giving them adequate medical care, offering comprehensive veterans' benefits--they come up dry.

Once we leave the service, they could give a shit. And they certainly don't want to hear our opinions.

14. Look up VA CARES Program
VA CARES is an Orwellian Bush Bunglers' acronym that stands for:

Capital
Asset
Re-alignment for
Enhanced
Services

Sounds nice in theory. But having worked on the solicitation to "sell" the program to veterans' groups, I can tell you that it boiled down to two simple steps:

1. Close facilities in Blue States, as punishment for their vote.
2. Open gleaming new facilities in Red States, as reward for their vote.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=va+cares

This program ran into some real problems, when some GOP Members of Congress in upstate NY started getting an earful from angry veterans.

Nevermind that burn victims and amputees are returning home from "The War on Terror" - and nevermind that many of those new disabled veterans hail from Blue States.

As a practical matter, Bush doesn't care. There's only so much money in the VA budget, and it's going to be channeled to where the Cheney Chain Gang thinks it will do the most good for image-making purposes.

It truly is the Potemkin Presidency.

The republicans do not care about veterans. Let morons like R. Lee Ermey (the crazy ex-Marine/Actor) support Bush and the republicans. I will not.
