What we are letting them get away with |
|
besides call us the Democrat Party is that we've let them get by with calling every position on policy that we stand for "partisan" while the Rs are allowed to trot out their policy positions as neutral or the center of the universe.
What can we do to get the faces that represent us to learn to speak differently and to RESPOND on these issues. Louise Slaughter just made a response. I'd like to see a little more open letters though. I'd like to see people DEMAND air time to respond to misinformation and outright lies.

1. when i was a boy they used to call that 'outrage' |
|
when a person was hit with a fit of outrage he'd start screaming and demanding and stomping and snorting and raising hell, but apparetnly they found a cure for it.

2. Amusing how they define the political spectrum to place themselves as |
|
mainstream centrists and label everyone to their left as extreme liberals. I wonder who they see when they look to their right? I would think they could complain about the extremists on the right as well, but no one seems to be causing any trouble there.
I think 9/11 caused a case of mass insanity in this country.

3. I am still waiting for the mob mentality to take hold |
|
Don't you think it is inevitable, given the continued demonetization of "liberals"?

4. It's the manipulation of language |

The dems must learn to skip ahead three or four comments in an argument.
At all times their demeanour must be composed and sensible. Fear reactions and resistance to criticism can be called "apoplexy", "frothing" or "frustration." These words can be aimed at both sides. Lose the hypnosis, dudes. Look your opponent in the eye. Learn that you do not care what happens to them.
At all times, cast the Republicans as the passive noun in a sentence.
from:
"Bush Demands Apology from Democrat Senator Following Hitler Comparison"
Should be rescanned as:
"Hitler Comparison Triggers Bush Outburst at Democrat Senator"
Casting Bush as the reactionary, unpredictable, rabid party.
Every RW policy must be re-branded as outlandish and inhuman. Democrat policy must be seen as centrist and unalarming.
Collect adjectives. Really! Have a list. It's quicker. Bet your ASS the RWers do.
NEVER, EVER, EVER apologise.

6. What You Mean "We" Kimosabe??? |
|
(using the old Lone Ranger joke)...
You're eating corporate media spin here, my friend. Any time a controversy pops up, the first thing the stenogrophers and toadies that comprise what is considered "journalism", they go running for a Repugnican spin-meister and that storyline is always prepared and is designed to confuse or distort. These people have been so coward into fearing being labeled "librul media", they now run for the RNC quotes like a Pavlov reaction...or, they'll allow themselves to plant stories this regime wants out there to create a controversy where none exists or stir up some other rear-guard noise.
The saving grace is where you sit right now...the computer and the web is creating a powerful alternative to the grip the corporate media has as "gatekeepers" of information. It's also a place where audience feedback (sorry WaPo) is integral and has emboldened a lot of people. We're just starting to see a major change in the communications and political dynamic, stay strong...there are a lot of us out there that want change and make those who created these messes to be held accountable.
