11. Ben Franlin lived when WE were the insurgents
The thing I've learned since 9-11 is not to trust the GOP specifically and Govt in general.

2. Guess we could then call him a "sunshine patriot" as Thomas Paine wrote
and then say we now know we wouldn't have been able to find him at Valley Forge

He'd be bowing to the British

3. NPR reported
Edited on Wed Jan-25-06 07:13 AM by bigscott
that Alberto said Washington intercepted mail during the Revolution so * can do it now. I suppose Alberto should get off his knees in front of * long enough to realize the Consitution was written/ratified AFTER the Revolution

5. So any atrocity committed by previous administrations can be
committed by this administration? Hitler gassed millions of people, so it is ok for us to do it? What if the Germans thought like this?

13. Followed by one of those lemon-sucking...
prissy bitches who insists on the same amount of time. I prefer, along with the Ohio activist, being so proud of those students. We know they are patriots, and the repukes probably think they weren't polite enough.

14. The only security Gee Du(m)b is working on is job security
for him , Uncle Dick, and all the cronies he has appointed. 9-11 itself happened, some believe, because idiot cowboys policies and polls numbers were not good. It has become obvious that Cheney and Gee Dub are misusing power and always reaching for more. This crew is a PR/marketing scam in action. Gee Dub is a media creation, and if the media ever stopped lowering the bar for him, it would be obvious he wants to be a dictator but is severely incompetent as a leader, esp in a democracy.

what would be so dreadful if Hillary was elected President. Maybe he just assumes it's obvious. She sounded like she had the vapors.

19. The Spin Is REAL Hard This Morning...
Remember, there are a lot of astroturfed calls on Washington Journal. They still haven't replied to F.A.I.R's report on their bias...but this is an important thing to hear.

The problem is we have a nation of people who are scared shitless and this regime and the religious right loves it that way. As one caller puts it...it's like little children looking for the big daddy to protect them...that's how spying and destroying the Constitution not only jives with these people (and there are a lot of them) but they're ready to encourage it. They're afraid to think out of the box as they've been so scared into it and won't dare to think differently lest they be hit by a bolt of lightning or some A-rab...or whatever boogyman they contrive.

The end game here is this regime is hoping it can play off the simple vs. the complex. It's easy to say "we're at war...gotta spy" while attempting to explain the 4th ammendment to people who've never really read, lest understood it, is a futile exercize. Hopefully, I'm proven wrong!

22. Gotta Be Careful With Some Of The Callers
I'm very strong on the Constitutional criminality going on here and I've always suspected not only the NSA but the DIA, CIA and FBI have been doing a lot of domestic spying. They've got carte blanche...zero oversight and a zealous executive that prods them to do more so they can flex even more power.

That said, I find the callers who claim they're seeing the text on their computer screens vanish or getting messages on their screen...that goes a little over the top for me. Maybe I'm a bit more "tech-saavy", but I can monitor a lot of what goes on in my computer and if it's a sensative item...such as a letter...I rarely compose it or save it while I'm online.

In essence, I don't care if the government reads what I write or listen to my phone calls...yawn. I'm lucky to keep awake most times. But on the constitutional grounds I consider the intrusion criminal and one that demands immediate action. Unfortunately, this regime has prefected on playing on and to fears and they're at it again. What's worse, Rove all but told us he was doing this.

Cheers...
