McCain under fire for fundraiser for guy who knew about Foleygate
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/1006mccain-foley-ON.html

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is scheduled to appear Oct. 20 in Rochester, N.Y., at a fund-raising luncheon with Rep. Thomas Reynolds.

The New York Republican is among members of the House GOP leadership who this spring learned that former Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla., had sent inappropriate e-mails to a teenage page.

The campaign event for Reynolds is another in McCain's busy schedule of appearances on behalf of fellow Republicans throughout the country, much of it paid for by his political-action committee, Straight Talk America. As of Friday, the committee said the fund-raiser with Reynolds remained on McCain's schedule, even as Democrats were questioning it.

1. I don't know why McCain just doesn't hang it up.
All the machinations and sucking up in the world isn't going to make his party like him or Dems vote for him. The guy has no learning curve.

2. He coulda been a contender...

When he first ran for the 2000 nomination... I sort of liked him and respected him.

I was going to support Gore no matter what, but I thought that a McCain/Powell ticket
would likely win... and wouldn't be too bad for the nation.

Since then, with his suck ups to Bushco, especially after what everyone knows Rove did to
him in South Carolina... well, I lost all respect for him. Now he is just another 'puke.

3. Reynolds is blowing...........
;) a LOT of money lately on TV, Radio, Telephone and Print ads that he probably didn't think he'd have to spend. He's in full, "damage control" mode now and it's draining his coffers, no doubt. He thought he had a nice safe seat all wrapped up but he's now trailing in the polls by about 7%. ALL of this in the past week since the Foley scandal broke. I hope it breaks open even further and buries these criminals.

I will be there to protest Reynolds and McCain in Rochester on October 20, hopefully with about 300 people from MetroJustice and other organizations. It's 'gonna be a big one, by Rochester standards and the press will give it a LOT of coverage. Reynolds must go and we're going to do our best to see that it happens.
