Sometimes I get this horrible vision of a future in which the Puggies stay in power by whatever means necessary, be it Diebold, vote suppression, martial law--whatever it takes. They continue looting the country until the whole system breaks down into gangs of lawless brownshirted thugs. At this point the dollar is worthless. Savings and retirement plans mean nothing.
In my dystopic vision, global warming has melted the ice from the polar regions and the coastal cities are flooded. Florida is an underwater sand bar. Manhattan s a forest of snaggly, broken skyscrapers rising from a shallow sea. The earth is battered by raging atmospheric storms.

Disease epidemics are raging across the land. There are no medical resources. Neither the water nor the air is fit to support life, and most people end up gasping in the gutters for their last breaths while those with anything of value left to trade end up using it to purchase bottled water & new filters for their breathing masks.

Maybe the super-wealthy then retreat into their prepared spaceship environments to live out their lives as the “winners.” Or maybe they die with the rest of us, like the cancers in the biosphere that they are.

1. I know about your nightmare

Sometimes my eyes pop open at 4 a.m. with the realization just how crazy, insane the bushes are.

I mean look what they have done. Implemented torture, claimed dictatorial powers for the president, endlessly used propaganda, given away our tax dollars to corporations, sold off our markets and American assets, bribed, alienated the middle, let a court select our president and on and on.

Yet people go around as if we are dealing with a rational political party. They argue as if it is just politics as usual. We discuss torture as if it is justified. We discuss turning unheard of powers to one man as if it was a common sense solution. Everything this country has stood up against is now promoted as if it is just another political discussion.

It ain't. We are dealing with a would be dictatorship and fascists regime. The bushes and neocons are not going to go away just because we vote them out. They will cheat, lie, steal and allow children to be molested if it promotes their neocon agenda. It is going to get real bad before these crazies leave power.
