Let's work hard to help elect Lamont again

Although I do not live in Connecticut, the defeat of Lieberman and election of Lamont is as important to me as my local elections. Although I voted for him six years ago for VP, Lieberman has been one of Bush's biggest cheerleaders and enablers. With his phony moderation, he has constantly worked to marginalize and discredit opposition to the BFEE as extremist, or partisan.

Let's forget about Foley, who is already gone, since Lieberman, who may still be around, has harmed far more and far worse

I know DU has researchers and writers who can reminds us of how bad Lieberman has been and how good Lamont is. Put those threads in GD, GDP and the Lounge where they will get more readers and keep them kicked. Dig them up out of the archives here if you have to. Make flash videos or youtube videos.

I will be writing to Democracy For America since I am on their email list. Perhaps Olberman could find a reason to make Lieberman the worst person of the week? Perhaps fans of Olberman could nominate him? I am open to ideas. What can we do?

1. LaMont's TV Ads Need Work -- They Lack Substance
LaMont can win but he needs to put a lot more money into his TV ads and add some substance. Pictures of people cheering LaMont and the story of Lamont's campaign -- that is his recent ad -- will not tell people WHY they should vote for him.

3. so let's have a 'write an ad' contest here
I will be thinking of ads that could work while I am at work. How about, for starters attacking Joe's 'experience' - experience supporting Bush in articles and on TV, experience voting for Roberts and Alito, and so on.

2. I haven't seen any
polls lately. How do they look? If I remember correctly, the last one I saw was pretty tight.

6. For me, Connecticut is personal
although I probably would feel the same way about New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, or Wisconsin. Connecticut is an ancestral home for the Hull, Loomis, Hickok, DeWolf, Upson, Plumb and Grant families, ancestors on my dad's side.
