Of those individuals, the VA reports that up to 15 percent may go on to develop a full- blown anxiety disorder that may develop when a person experience an emotional response of fear, helplessness , or horror to a traumatic event.
People with PTSD fall into one of three classes. THe First, lifetime PTSD, consists of individuals who recieve treatment and may experience some improvement , but are never rid of their symptoms. Second, PTSD in Remission consists of people who developed PTSD, had their symptoms go into remission, and then experienced resurgence in symptoms due to some recent exposure similar to the original tramatic event. Third, Delayed onset PTSD , consists of individuals who are exposed to a traumatic event but don't experience significant symptoms until months later.
Look if you have family or friends that are combat vets or returning troops you know please watch for these signs. Me right after 9/11 I had a flash back .
