What can be accomplished by democratic victories in '06

if Alito is confirmed? Does anyone know since the court will operate as a check on a democratic congress?

1. First, they can render this Pres. impotent.

Shrub can be reasonably sure he will not get ANY of his new programs through at all!

Second, there WILL be investigations into all the wrong things that have been done, no matter what Department, Branch of Gov't, or who did it.

2. The judiciary can't make legislation.

They can say it is unconstitutional then Congress can pass a law that says it's legal and back and forth and back and forth. But in the meantime, Congress Impeaches bush. The hearing (a real one, not the fake pretend we are not puppets of the president hearings we have now) will bring some light of day to some very shady deals in the White House. This will kill the bushites in the next election. Even if the Judiciary decides Impeachment of a President has suddenly turned Unconstitutional, they will have overlooked some amount of legislation. The dancing Supremes can't look at everything their masters do.
