2. Actually it's in front of the crowd who is doing tha actual spying?
Why announce it and televise it as selling the War on Terrorism or whatever the media is announcing it as.

11. I can't think of many places WORSE than NSA headquarters
People working at NSA know USSID 18 by heart; it is sacred to them. They will not take kindly to the notion that Bush is above the law.

Yes, the desk who was spying on Americans might be receptive to Bush's speech, but the whole Agency isn't that desk.

Quite frankly, if I was a secret serviceman I'd be staking out the Targets and Home Depots around Fort Meade. Anyone with a Fort Meade registration sticker on his car who buys five gallons of Henry 555 Flashmaster roofing cement, a roofer's propane torch, a tank of propane, a mop and three feather pillows this morning on the way to work needs to be taken into immediate custody.

16. Jmowreader is Correct --
Most of NSA employees are up in arms about this. All their professional lives, they've told their friends and family that they DO NOT spy on Americans, but only do surveillance on foreign governments. Now Bush has made a liar out of them.

NSA employees are smart. They've been over this territory countless times, and know better than to swallow the bullshit wasy Bush is defending his illegal activities.

4. When was the last time you can recall Bush showing up before
anything besides a friendly crowd? They pick the audience that will be sympathetic to anything he says, then they make a big deal out of the fact that he is taking "unscripted questions". Are we not supposed to notice these things?

12. During one of these 'friendly' events . . .
Bush visits a school to explain his politics to the students. He invites them to ask him questions. One student, 'Bobby', stands up and tells him "Mr. President, I got 3 questions":

1. In your 2000 campaign, you promised to bring 'dignity' to the White House. What happened?
2. Why are we still in Iraq?
3. Don't you also consider spying on Americans a terrorist act?

Before the president can answer, the fire alarm goes off, and the students and everyone has to leave the room. False alarm, all clear, and the students come back. Bush invites them again to ask questions. A different student stands up and tells him "Mr. President, I got 5 questions":

1. In your 2000 campaign, you promised to bring 'dignity' to the White House. What happened?
2. Why are we still in Iraq?
3. Don't you also consider spying on Americans a terrorist act?
4. Wasn't it strange to have a false alarm right in the middle of the question period?
5. And, where's Bobby?
